Carnival Collections Volunteer

Carnival Collections Volunteers wanted for Bridgwater, Taunton & Wellington Carnivals! 
Come and join in the Carnival fun and help raise funds and awareness for Arcinspire.

Job description:

Arc houses, supports and enables homeless people to maximise their potential. Working in Taunton, West Somerset and Sedgemoor, we strive for all homeless people to have a safe and supportive environment, where people can be inspired and empowered by their own strengths. 

Would you like to help us with our fundraising efforts so that we can continue to make a difference to people who are struggling with homelessness or rough sleeping?  

We are looking for upbeat energetic people to help us with our Carnival Collections in Wellington, Bridgwater & Taunton.  

As part of a team of 8 volunteers & staff you will be responsible for: 

• Assisting with bucket collections on Carnival Night. 

• Encouraging and accepting donations  

• Engaging with the public to answer their questions about homelessness 

• Informing the public about Arc and distributing leaflets  

Are you: 

• Over 18 

• Warm & friendly 

• Confident 

• Approachable 

• Passionate about ending homelessness 

• In good health & able to make it round the carnival route carrying a bucket of coins!

  At Arc we are not all the same. We come from all walks of life and a wide variety of backgrounds. We draw on these differences in who we are, what we’ve experienced and how we think to create services that work for everyone. Location:

• Wellington Saturday 28th September, starts 7.30pm 

• Taunton Saturday 19th October, starts 7.00pm 

• Bridgwater Saturday 2nd November, starts 6.00pm  

Salary:

Somerset Carnivals are a unique tradition, this is an opportunity to take part in the procession, to join in with your local community and experience the carnival atmosphere while getting some exercise and raising much needed funds for Arc! 

Along the way you’ll:

• improve your communication skills 

• build your confidence 

• change perceptions of homelessness 

• inspire others to make a difference
