We’d love to see our incredible supporters and donors at No Place to Call Home this October at the Brewhouse Theatre, Taunton.
The evening will feature a screening of the award-winning film I, Daniel Blake, a powerful story showing the reality of those who fall through the cracks of society and face injustice in the welfare system.
This will be followed by a panel discussion with sector experts and those with lived experience. We're delighted to welcome to our panel:
Paul Richards: CEO of Arc
James Hobbs: Former client of Arc's with lived experience of homelessness, and now an employee of Crescent Cleaning Services
Sarah Wakefield: The lead in Housing and Homelessness for Somerset Council
Mark Brown: The Vice Chair of the Homeless Reduction Board and Chair of Creative Solutions
Together, they’ll share the challenges, truths, and human stories behind the issue in our community.
Right now, hundreds of people in Somerset face housing insecurity, sofa-surfing, sleeping rough, or living in temporary accommodation. Many are also struggling with poor mental health, worsened by instability and isolation.
This event is more than a film night, it’s a space to listen, reflect, and better understand the complexities of homelessness and mental health in our community. Whether you come to learn, to connect, or to act, this promises to be an evening of impact and insight.
